Trainers to get own-brand blended learning
Training companies seeking to provide blended learning but without in-house electronic resources
can benefit from a new service launched by Echelon.
Echelon Learning, the learning design, publishing and distribution specialist, is offering trainers and consultancies help with producing and maintaining branded bespoke websites.
Sites are populated with training materials from Echelon’s learningmatters.com/ database of over 2,000 bite-size business and soft skill solutions, which are then blended into client training programmes.
Says Echelon managing director David Hill:
“All training companies need do is select the range of pre- and post-course material required. This complements individual training courses by offering pre-course knowledge builders as well as post-course learning reminders.
“The system then stores the material and tracks usage. The site is password protected and passwords can be varied so the site may be offered up to more than one training company client. An added benefit is that, if required, we can also publish learning modules from the course itself as part of the site content.”
A blended learning site designed to the user’s ‘house’ corporate identity and branding with up to five passwords and a licence to a total of 250 downloads is available at £2,500 a year from Echelon.
For £7,000 a year, a consultancy buys into the right to unlimited downloads and up to 20 passwords.
David Hill points out the potential of secondary licensing of the service to clients.
“A training consultancy could offer a client a course and up to 50 downloads from its site and not only be seen to provide a useful service but also have sufficient margin to start covering its initial outlay,” he adds.
An example of this blended approach can be seen in action at learningmatters.com/novartisdemo/.
